I wonder if John’s “I don’t care how you faked it” hurts Sherlock because John used to call him amazing and fantastic whenever Sherlock would display his cleverness. And now he doesn’t even want to hear it.
So Twelve’s run is likely going to feature him searching for Gallifrey. The thirteenth and final incarnation. Searching for the Time Lords. The Time Lords that he saved. The Time Lords that will likely be grateful. The Time Lords that can grant extra regenerative cycles.
I’m really hoping for the Time Lords not be be little shits, bacause all I can think about is when the Doctor cut the link the Master was trying to make, for he was afraid of what the Time Lord had become at the end of the Time War… I really hope that they seized the oportunity and just… be better, be good, for the Doctor, and for the Universe.
(When I write this much, I’m never sure if I wrote everything correctly and I get anxious :/ so I hope this is right…)
Moffat did not rewrite anything. He changed no part of Doctor Who “canon”. Nothing from RTD’s era is pointless or invalidated. He fit this story in neatly between Classic and NuWho. It was perfect. And it made the Doctor happy. He can finally be hopeful and happy.
